Life in Itacaré, Brazil
I spent two unforgettable weeks in Itacaré, Brazil, and what started as a trip to learn surfing turned into so much more. I met up with a friend from Germany, but it was the people of Itacaré who truly left a mark on me. Their warmth was incredible—always smiling, radiating joy, and embracing a simple but deeply fulfilling way of life.
Itacaré is a place that feels spiritual, both in its natural beauty and its people. The rhythm of surfing connected me to the ocean, but the human connections were just as profound. One of the highlights was visiting a fisherman’s house. The evening was surreal—we played billiards on a table surrounded by mud, laughter filling the air. The family welcomed us like we were their own, with the children watching us with wide eyes, brimming with playful curiosity.
It was a place where life felt both vibrant and grounded—a reminder that happiness doesn’t come from what you have, but from how you live. Itacaré wasn’t just a trip; it was a life lesson wrapped in sunshine, waves, and the kindest of people.
